Daniel,
What particularly fascinates you about his books? Just take into account,
you really haven't been fascinated until you have read "The Last and Best of

the Peter Pans." Or, if you are under a spell of reckless abandon, so
familiar to me on a Saturday night, get a copy of "Rex Passard Goes to
Mars." Just when you thought you've read it all...
Best,
John Gedsudski

John,
I'm not exactly sure. Mostly, its the strong confidence mixed with confusion
or uncertainty. I guess I can relate to the Glasses some what growing up in
New Mexico, not liking or tusting outsiders (Touristas) and growing up
catholic practicing crypto jewish traditions. But Salinger takes, for me
atleast, believable and interesting relationships and exagerates almost to
cartoonish proportions. He has good stuff (subject matter) but gets
hysterical with it. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy good hysterics, but his are
too academic.

Daniel.
