Well at times I have been accused in the past of having a more "male"
attitude about things, and that I seemed to be more more "cold hearted"
(this is probably not the correct term I am looking for, but close to it)
about such matters.

I am not disregarding that she could "not" be pregnant, because she is
questioning her spirtualality/life, but just how she is precieving
everything, and getting sick at the restaurant, and also just how she "is",
my gut feeling, after growing through that little number myself when I was
younger ("OHGODIWILLDOANYTHINGASLONGASIAMNOTPREGNANT"), and watching
friends as well getting scared, it just seems to me that she *is* pregnant
or (as you stated before) *isnt* pregnant and conviced she is.

Agreed. Right now I am engrossed in two novels: servant of the bones by
anne rice and "lila" by robert prisig. Must put those on hold and read
franny again. now only if I can find it....(might still be packed away
somewhere)..

actually it could be a combination of:

Franny is pregnant and knows it OR she really isn't pregnant, but think she
is.
