Before anyone has a chance to say "But I thought Malcs didn't watch TV. How
does he know so much about Seinfeld?" Well, I have a friend who is a TVholic
and I go to his place once a week to watch the Mariners on TV. We have some
beers and after the game he surfs the channels and keeps me abreast of Voyager
and Deep Space Nine and the Pretender (which isn't that bad a show) and he's a
huge Seinfeld fan. He watches everything. EVERYTHING. I couldn't hold a candle
to his viewing habits even if I tried. As a result he's pretty much become a
recluse at the age of 35 and is an extremely cynical person. The saddest
thing, though, is that he has a helluva mind and could easily fit on any city
council committee because he has a thorough understanding of local civics as
well as the basic foundational tax structure of what comprises a small
metropolitan city like Seattle. Unfortunately he only got through two years of
college. Why? Because he smoked too much pot and just sat around watching soap
operas when he should have been going to class.
