Perhaps you are thinking of Mr. Keats who wrote:

      Now more than ever seems it rich to die,
      To cease upon the midnight with no pain,

Or of course, it could simply been one of our Australian friends
saying "This is a good day t'die" (as opposed to yesterdie).
