> How was Bob? I've seen him twice. He amazes me . He was great. Dylan's band was extremely tight and he called a guitar a gee-tar (: It would have been nicer if he'd chatted to the audience a bit - Patti Smith was there shaking people's hands and letting them sing into her microphone. And I think she was the real revelation - she was truly incredible, one of those performers that just had an indefinable brilliance that really gets to you. She was funny, and erudite as you would imagine - even my mother (who I went with) was mighty, mighty impressed with her. She closed with Rock and Roll Nigger and it's still as powerful as I imagine it was in New York in the 70's. It was worth it just for her, but then again, few things could beat getting to hear Bob Dylan singing `Blowing in the Wind' live, either!
