I've had this discussion before, about the same boyfriend (yes, I'm
still with him (: ) and someone pointed out the fact that everyone is
entitled to their own opinion and sometimes it's gutsier to stick to it
rather than simply defer to your friend's POV. You'll be happy to know,
though, after his initial disenchantment with TCIR I intend to give him
a course of high-dose Zen with some Glass chasers and send him on the
ride again (possibly via Nine Stories or Franny and Zooey). We'll see
what happens (: Naturally, if he nothing does, that's his perogative.
There's been books he's tried to get me into that I haven't taken to either
(although we both like Douglas Coupland - I was wondering seeing he was
described as `Salinger on acid' et al when Generation X came out whether
anyone else out there has read/admires/passionately dislikes Coupland?)
