Other journalists who aren't NPR, to answer your first question. People
actually in Iraq in the 80s that I've read, and I think some of it was
drawn from the UN. They also supported, by the way, the fact that
Hussein actually developed chemical weapons and used them against Kurds
and Iraqis.

If you're making the claim, though, the burden of proof is on you.
