Hello there,
I am new to the list, just a couple of weeks been here reading your
analyses with amzement! ..I kind of thought I would find ordinary people
like myself, but I seem to have popped into a group of geniuses :)
I adore Salinger and his work, but I guess I enjoy his work in somewhat
lower level, as my mother tongue is Finnish and Salinger's book apart from
CITR are very time consuming to read for me. I would like to know all
about Salinger, but his texts and any information about
him is extremely difficult to find in this corner of the world. I guess
this list is the best place to ask for more info :)
I am trying to gather articles about Salinger (early ones as well as
recent), but American magazines are not widely found in Finnish libraries.
I know that I might be able to subscribe some old numbers of magazines
(LIFE at least) if only I know the numbers. So please if you happen to
know what magazines include his stories - or stories of him, please PLEASE
share the information with me! I am sure I will one day get the money for
the airline ticket and fly over to explore libraries over there, but so
far I must do the best I can here.
