Steve,
I understand what you're saying, and I apologize for making such a
blanket statement. However, I do have a bit of a story to support my
point. A friend of mine's father wanted to put on a huge end-of-the-year
blowout party for people at his small liberal arts college. He got
everyone to pitch in for kegs (I mean, *everyone*) and on the day of he
was stocked up as full as he could take with beer for the gathering.
Also, since it was the end of the year, he decided to videotape the entire
affair for sentimental reasons. Needless to say, towards the end of the
night most of what he caught on tape was people getting progressively
drunker, falling all over themselves and others, vomiting, playing
drinking games, passing out, etc. He was extremely delighted about
getting all this on tape. At a crucial time during the party, he got up on
the roof of the house with a bullhorn, got the attention of everyone in the
immediate vicinity, and announced loud and clear that every single keg
bought was full of non-alcoholic beer. Still videotaping, he watched all
those who were putting on the most fantastical and dramatic act of
being drunk, slowly getting up and walking away back home. Mad as
hell most likely, but not about to protest.

I do give people credit, but stories like that really make me laugh.

Pete.
