Re: a political being

My resistance, Tina, was to the monocular view:
    'everything is politics'.

You can, of course - if you screw your eyes up really tight -
reduce every human situation to a struggle between individuals
or groups for advantage or dominance. You could equally well
explain it in artistic or sexual or religious terms. After all,
what is the point of power if it doesn't lead to endless orgasms
conducted in aesthetically satisfying circumstances under the kindly
    gaze of a Loving Father?

I think Jim put his finger on the explanation for my complacency.
An only child, handsome & clever, healthy & charming, witty & brave,
born in a comfortable bourgeois home, & surrounded now by
an adoring family & endlessly grateful patients, I had it made all
    the days of my life..

What possible reason could I have for wanting to change the status quo?

    Scottie B.
