well, I'm Josh. I've read all my library has to offer on salinger but that's not a whole lot. not alot of people my age(17) seem to be interested in any literature except modern pop novels (john grisham, stephen king, etc..) or magazines.. but I will start off my time on this list by asking a pretty simple question about _Catcher in the Rye_: Is Holden Caulfield's vernacular reflective of the way the author talks or is it more representative of all prep school teenagers in the 1940s? Or is it just Salinger making a unique, memorable character? anyway, Ive unconciously taken in a lot of Caulfield's phrases and used them in everyday life.. I hope this doesn't make me a phony. Joshie
