I was brought up in a Catholic family, and I believe my parents might
indeed have been delighted had I decided to become a priest.
Certainly not as delighted as my grandparents on either side, I
suspect, but delighted nonetheless. On the other hand nobody would
have been very happy had I become a nun. You can imagine the
disappointment, then--the anger, the betrayal even--when, in a fit of
confusion, I became neither a priest nor a nun, but a pun.
