If anyone else on this list had used the word psychosis to discuss a
state of mind, it might have been less specific. But coming from
Scottie, you can bet he said it on purpose.

I am very interested in some elaboration from Scottie on his statement.

We all need to learn to limit our interpretations of a sentence to the
context of our discussion. Yes, Both you and Scottie can elaborate very
clearly on the precise difference between a neurosis and a psychosis. But
**within the context of our discussion of Seymour,** what difference will
that difference make? If I had substituted "psychosis" for "neurosis" in my
original sentence (the one Scottie was actually taking issue with), would
**my** point have been any different?

No. See, I was being "less specific," because I am not a mental health
professional. But my point is the same. I'm not going to bother repeating
it, because I tire of repeating myself and am now more than willing to allow
other people to take the time to reread my posts :)

So the diffrence between the two is immaterial, and both yours and Scottie's
responses absurd.

Now, do you want to respond to what my real point? :) The Seymour related
one. I abandoned the study of psychology years ago and am not really
interested in purusing the topic of your post myself...
