I guess I don't get how he

If Seymour hadn't killed himself, would his character have
boiled so in Buddy's mind? With Seymour around to steal
Buddy's ties and bug him with sound advice about not aiming
your marble, would Buddy have allowed himself to become so
obsessed with his brother? In a way, Seymour's death shattered
the sort of glass wall between him and Buddy; with Seymour out
of the picture, perhaps, Buddy eventually found the drive to
get close to Seymour...and consequently, we have all of Buddy's
Seymour stories.

How's that?

Brendan
