S & Cie. is still hanging on, but one of the better English-language
shops these days is called Village Voice (if you should be here at some
time soon). I shall report on any Salinger "sightings" (term used very
loosely to include, mostly, references to books and such. But a copy of
Catcher it shall be as a gift.

As for the ice cream, I was dragged to Berthillon last night, and had
a bit myself. And I thought NYC was expensive....

But it is a beautiful day today, and we shall see what happens. Scottie,
I regret that I shall not be able to make my to the region of Cork, where
we could bend a couple of teetotaling elbows!
