Paul, thanks--I couldn't fish Jeffrey Masson out of my memory but
that's the person that Malcolm wrote about it. Yes, there was
evidence to make one doubt the complete veracity of Malcolm's
article, but the evidence was pretty controversial. Malcolm has
written novels since and I guess I'm thinking now that her probs with
non-fiction don't seem to impact her literary insight. As I recall,
the Malcom-Masson stuff was a lot of he said she said conflict...will
