Subject: Writers Anyone?

Hey,
Are any of you writers? Is anyone interested in
exchanging/workshopping their works with me (or
others) off list?
I just wrote the following two sonnets for my wife for
our 2nd anniversary this coming Monday. What do you
think?
First Seen
I think I tried the crossword puzzle first,
Gave up, turned on the air, had Chex® and pop
That didn’t do enough to quench my thirst.
My stomach turned as we began to drop
And I rushed to belt in and sit straight, dry
As twine, and just as taut. Man, I was tight!
I was scared to meet you in person. Why?
(Maybe to think of how we’d spend the night?)
The plane touched down and parked. I didn’t have
Feeling in one leg. I climbed the ramp
And toward the top I saw you smile. You waved
At me. I stopped before you, forehead damp.
Your skirt, blouse (and green eyes) on me impressed
That I with rainbow pants was underdressed.

Last Seen
I put on workout clothes that smell like Hell.
You go to the bathroom to brush your hair
And to do who knows what. Boredom impels
Me upstairs to check e-mail. Soon you blare,
“Where’s my Chris?” You’re dressed and antsy to jog.
“I’ll be down in a sec,” I say and click
SEND. Soon we’re driving to Celery Bog.
After a light stretching, we’re off. You’re quick,
And pull ahead. Flies chase me. Some rabbits
Dart on and off the path, sit up, eat grass.
I shower, you make my lunch. These habits
Of ours are predictable, but calm. Last,
I’m in the car, off to work. In the shade,
Mo, our black cat, waves to me with your aid.
