yea, i think that has a lot to do with it. i find us
an interesting bunch of people, and imagine,
statistically more than 'the norm,' might be in need
of the equivalent of holden's recuperation.

i might add i sometimes think that seymour
approximates many of the classic symptoms of the
manic depressive.
