hi john,

the only reference to rilke that i know of is in that
letter to felice right after franz got back from the
munich reading of 'in the penal colony'. if you
indeed find any other references to rilke, i'd be very
grateful to know.

hey, nothing is wrong with the canon! thanks for
going to the trouble of responding. (though, no: tom
is good, tom is great to listen to, he's even fun to
watch on screen--but you can't induct him, or joni, or
even mr. zimmerman--though christopher ricks wants
to--into the canon. it's apples and oranges.)
