Just to set the record straight, Fitzgerald was of Irish descent and
therefore likely Catholic American heritage. And Joseph Conrad was born Jozef
Teodor Konrad Korzeniowski of Polish parents in Berdichev, Ukraine. Both
writers were white, but niether was Anglo-Saxon (Although Conrad did live
for several years in the English county of Kent), and it is unlikely that
either was Protestant.

I just thought it pertinent to mention that white people who write in the
English language are not necessarily WASPs.
