andrew,

i think maybe you should look up an ex-bananafisher (or current lurker for all
i know) by the name of lisa rabey. you have very similar issues to deal with,
not to mention communication problems.

and just my two cents on your capitalism rant:

capitalism (as jim has already pointed out) is hardly an oppressive economic
system. perhaps if you were less concerned with what others have that you do
not (i.e. the upper crust) and more concerned with enjoying what you do have,
you wouldn't feel quite so angry. and your above quoted statements are in
direct contradiction with your previous statements (which i have unfortunately
already deleted) about will's unsalingerian boasting of possessions.

one more thing--i've never really liked Teddy as much as the other stories
because it is so vague. but i don't know much of anything about eastern
philosophy outside of a little Lao Tzu and Hagakure, so maybe this is the most
zen of all possible stories. i still don't like it as a story.
