_A Confederacy of Dunces_ is the most unique, enjoyable book I've read in a
long time. A friend gave me a copy many many years ago, and I didn't get
around to reading it until recently. Don't make the same mistake I did,
Madhava!

Toole is to Salinger as the French Quarter is to the Upper East Side.

Sean,

Are you serious about A Confedacy of Dunces? I disagree about _Seymour_ but
don't expect everyone to like it. A friend once gave ACoD's though and I
couldn't even read it. Do you really place it in league with Salinger. If
I remember right the author did commit suicide so ti has that connection.

Love,
Madhava
