Salinger in the 40s/50s

Can anyone direct me to some biographical work or possibly even
interviews with Salinger about the 40s or 50s? I'd like to get an
idea of what he felt like returning home after the war and what he
thought of post-war America. Did he ever do interviews back then?
Is there a good biography of JDS that might cover this?

I'm new to the list, so, sorry if this is in a FAQ or archive
somewhere I haven't seen yet.
