That's what I meant when I said "Loudly Absent". Seymour doesn't ever
actually appear in the story as an active character, but he is very
present throughout the piece--in his own form as well as, eh?, the Short
Man.

Sorry, Brendan. I missed that one. My response was the first thing I did
this morning, perhaps I should wait until noon before posting anything in the
future. I will say that I didn't exactly get what you meant by Buddy turning
on the uncle in the second half of the story. Or am I reading that incorrectly
as well? Hope everyone is well the world over as we start yet another week.
