	It's a comfort to know that for one's own polemical purposes 
	one may borrow from histories & cultures of which one knows 
	nothing.  The next time Gerry or Martin want to make a point 
	about Ian's lambeg drums they need, presumably, feel no hesitation 
	in likening them to the tom-tom bingo-bangos of Amiri's ancestral 
	home.

	Maybe, though, it's a privilege reserved for Americans.  As I watch 
	Clinton's cynical hi-jacking of Robin Island (or, indeed, the Falls 
	Road) for his own meretricious reasons I'm half inclined to think 
	so.
