Yeah, that's a tough one. I'm afraid I can't even picture the actor
mentioned.
I've always sort of thought Fitzgerald himself would be good.

How about Arnold Schwarzenegger?

Danny Devito?

Danny Glover?

Mel Gibson?

Or Kevin Costner as the Not-so-great-but-definitely-over-budget-Gatsby.

Or maybe, just maybe. . . nobody. For example, there's never been an
actor
who could do justice to Hemingway, much as I love Bogart and Gary
Cooper.

You know, though -- Will Smith would be interesting, for real. (If

not available.)
