Which I didn't realize until you brought it up. yeah, we watched the two in class in our neverending "american dream" unit. i think the characters are a lot alike, but just dealt with things in very different ways. dustin hoffman is a strong enough actor to play gatsby, but i guess i meant it would be weird because of the situation i saw it in-- i would be watching him play gatsby, and wouldn't be able to get willy loman out of my head. > I'm an inveterate whistler in > elevators, and Malkovich is one of my favorites. i don't know if I whistle in > elevators now out of some deep seated need to whistle or as a homage to > Malkovich's Biff. i have always loved john malkovich, and that's one of my favorite performances of his ever. i really liked biff's character before i ever saw that version, and when i found out that he played biff it made the whole thing even better. he's fantastic. ~*laura.
