UGH.  I'm fed up with Salinger in this regard.  He has his head stuck up
his arse.

Tell ya what, I had a bit of a go about this in a Salinger chat last
Friday.  I'm going to post the chat log and you guys tell me what you
think.

Knee jerk anti-intellectualism is about as pretentious and boring as knee
jerk intellectualism.
