My name is Charles Cohen, this is my first reply, so bear with me if i'm
repeating things...
Seymour is in no way a pedophile- each of Salinger's characters has a special
connection with children- not sexual,but respectful, as one equal to another.
JDS has been quoted as saying, "most of my best friends are children; in fact,
all of my best friends are children."  Would you say this makes him a
pedophile?  You could make that point about any preschool teacher who loves
their job.  Does anyone want that kind of paranoia?

P.S.- When is the republished story coming out that was supposed to be
available this summer?
