heh, good post again.  Actually, the Hebrew prophets could be REAL smart
asses, but to understand the humor you had to be within the culture.  It
takes some study.

For most of it, that is.  For some of it, the humor's right up front. 
I'm thinking of Elijah confronting the prophets of Baal--Elijah, after
spending quite some time listening to their prayers, asked if maybe Baal
was in the bathroom and couldn't hear them praying...
