Or are the rumours true that the Yanks have largely given
all that up now & spend their evenings watching games
on television while bloating on hamburgers & fizzy drinks?

    Sourpuss B.

I sat upon my couch (American Throne) this past sunday and watched THE game
and enjoyed myself very much and I had a few fizzy grain drinks as well.
Like Al Bundy a relived my glory days. I guess when all you have is cricket
and english cuisine, books are that much more important.

Concerning book collecting, I am similiar to John in that I don't care about
1st edition etc, I just rather have the story, many of my books are nothing
more than printed bond paper down loaded from the internet bound in metal
brad paper binders. In fact a friend recently laughed at me when I loaned
him my copy of George McDonald's _Lilith_ in this format.

Scottie, we Americans believe in having it all, fizzy drinks, Football, and
books. We leave the life lorn stiff upper lip crap to you bombastic chaps
across the pond.

Daniel (who din't score four touch downs in one high school football game
but had many great open field tackles)
