I have read The Celestine Prophecy. The story itself is fictional, including
the characters and the manuscript. However, as far as my explorations of
metaphysics go, I can neither scientifically prove nor deny the insights, but
personally, I do think the insights are congruent with reality. The book
itself is a point blank explanation of our current fascination with the "New
Age." Redfield also offers a book called an experiment guide that lets you
(works best with a group of people) safely experiment with each insight. I
haven't done any of the exercises in it, but it's pretty much a bunch of
meditations.
