    With his Huckish memories of crayfish & dams & lizards,
    it begins to sounds ominously as if Daniel may be what
    Hem used to call one of those 'great American boy-men.'

    Nothing - from anybody - could have made me feel more
    flattered, though, than Robbie's comment. The only thing
    that came near was a similar note from 3rd Army Headquarters.
    It was from that old Francophile cissy, George S. Patton.
    (Who didn't have to use a dictionary.)
