Hi Bernd, welcome to the list (: I was wondering if you read The Catcher in the Rye in English or its German translation - which I understand was translated by Heinrich Boll, one of my favourite authors. I have always wanted to talk to someone who had read both the English and German versions to see how well the translation was done. I've also noticed certain parallels with Salinger's `Nine Stories' in Boll's `22 Stories'- especially `In The Valley of the Thundering Hooves' and `Murke's Collected Silences'. Are you familiar with these stories at all!
