"fun" is the opposite of "important"

i theorize that the american word "fun" is the opposite of the american word
"important."

important things bear fruit. whereas, nothing comes of fun.

it's not really fun if something comes of it. and, it's not really important
if nothing comes of it. work is important. work is not fun.

i'm driving myself nuts with this.

raising children = fun AND important? no. because it's important. and it's
not really fun. it's fun having fun with your children. but it's not fun
raising them. it's important.

relationships = fun AND important? no. love is important. marriage is work.
 neither of them are fun. if you are single and available you can have fun
relationships. but when relationships become important, they are no longer
fun.

wondering about this is not important. it's fun. so don't reply. otherwise
i might think this distraction is important and should be looked into further.
 with more depth and clarification.
